• Course Pitch
This course is designed around understanding the global fresh produce industry (valued at $650 billion with exports valued at $100 billion and growing at 4-5% year-on-year) dynamics. The focus would be to understand the intense price pressures in the industry and how competitive and differentiated value propositions are being delivered in horticulture value chains.
The focus will be to highlight the value proposition attributes and other business model dimensions that helping businesses realise profitable scale. Using the 4-component (differentiated value proposition, distribution aligned with value proposition, complementary chain partnerships and sustainability elements), the course reviews Looije Tomaten (Netherlands), Lufa Farms (Canada), SunMoon Food (Singapore), Vitasnack/Natural crunch (Spain) and HomeVeg (Tanzania) business models.

• Course & the Pathway Connection
This course can be pursued independently or as part of “Disruptive Food Value Chains” learning & reflection pathway. The pathway is designed to help you navigate through decision and execution related dynamics associated with different value chain designs within Food & Agribusiness. Specifically, the emphasis is on how altering/adjusting the design is critical to create, deliver and capture value. Specifically, the role of incentives in changing the behavior and decision making dynamics of the value chains players will be brought of through different courses. If you choose to enroll in the pathway, you'll have the option to receive an extra certificate upon completing the reflection exercise for the pathway. Enrolling to the pathway also gives you access to our facilitators via the AA Slack channel.
