Welcome to the course dynamics of digital agriculture. As we are witnessing a great flush of digital technologies into the Agribusiness value chain (starting from Agriculture Inputs, Agriculture production, Aggregation, Retailing and Consumption) it is important for us to understand the economics and consumer side benefits of these technologies.

Dr. Steven Sonka, a renowned agriculture economist with more than 3 decades of research and consulting focus on agritech interventions and their adoption. Through this course, he shares his expertise and experience on how different technologies are adopted and how technology adoption changes the dynamics of the value chains. Specifically, the emphasis will be on how technology changes the decision-making, productivity, incentives for the value chain players. Also, how these dynamics influence the consumer side elements such as pricing, quality, safety & transparency.

The course will end with a nice discussion between Dr. Steven Sonka and Dr. Vijayender Nalla addressing critical questions around the changing economics, people and sustainability dynamics in the value chain.
