This course is designed around the innovations addressing the food transparency & traceability within the food supply chains. Accurate information about food, from its origin on the farm to its consumption, is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and timely distribution of food products to consumers while maintaining quality standards. Various digital tools and systems are now in use across the food supply chain to monitor and gather pertinent data about food items. This enables consumers to access traceability details about the food they consume, all while contributing to the reduction of food waste.

The course and the assessment will build your understanding and confidence around sorting, grading, cold chain, big data, IoT, blockchain and other storage & logistics innovations.

This course can be pursued independently or as part of “Food Distribution and Retail” learning & reflection pathway. The pathway is designed to help you navigate through the retail and consumer side innovations and the value propositions designed around these innovations. The role of technology and the sustainability demands consumer are asking of their retailers is changing the retail competitive landscape and business models. If you choose to enroll in the pathway, you'll have the option to receive an extra certificate upon completing the reflection exercise for the pathway. Enrolling to the pathway also gives you access to our facilitators via the AA Slack channel.
