Food Losses and Food Waste (MP)

Dealing with Food Losses & Waste - Recent Trends & Industry Developments (FLWG)

Description
• Course Pitch
In a world where millions suffer from hunger and lack access to nutritious food, it's alarming to note that one-third of our food supply is lost throughout the value chain. This wastage is particularly pronounced in emerging countries, primarily at the post-harvest stage, while in developed nations, significant losses occur at the retail and consumer levels.
This course offers a window into the issue of food wastage, exploring the innovative technologies and business models aimed at addressing this problem. It delves into the responses of various stakeholders, including consumers, governments, technology providers, and private enterprises, as they grapple with the challenge of reducing food wastage.
At the end of this course, you will be able to answer/discuss the below questions with a lot more clarity and confidence.
--->How are both the private and public sectors responding to the challenge of food waste?
--->How is technology being utilized to manage food waste within households?
--->How is the enthusiasm for the adoption of new environmentally friendly technologies increasing in commercial applications?
--->How are major food companies responding to tackle the issue of food waste?
--->What is required to establish circular value chains for managing agricultural waste in emerging nations?

At the end of the course and the assessment you will be able to develop value propositions that create added value by preventing future waste and/or by creating value out of waste streams of edible food.
