Smallholder Farmers and Finance (AGFB)

Description
• Course Pitch
Smallholders and farm finance are the most difficult subjects of finance from the perspective of traditional financiers. This course examines the particular challenges of smallholder finance and how agribusiness can support them in their quest for finance. Specific emphasis is placed on the below two elements:
→ How smallholders fall short in their bankability.
→ Roles and Mechanisms which agribusinesses can undertake to support or encourage smallholder access to finance.

You will be taken through a conceptual understanding video presentation by Agribusiness Finance expert Ms. Lorna Grace (approximately 45 minutes). This lecture will be followed by a 30-minute video discussion between Ms. Lorna Grace and Dr. Vijayender Nalla that capture the insights from the presentation and helps you apply the tools and frameworks in practical business situations.

The course learning and assessment will help you learn and apply the insights to smallholder farmer finance to your context.
