Description
• Course Pitch
Agribusiness as a sector has got a lot of challenges right from production to consumption. The challenges are related to profitability, growing food demand, food wastage, food quality, consumer preferences, sustainability and so on. In this course we'll look at Agtech, also known as Agritech or AgriFood tech, but always reffering to the use of new technology in the sector with the aim of improving yield, efficiency, and profitability.
By the end, you will understand the potential of technology to turn these challenges into opportunities in Agribusiness. There are a lot of buzzwords in the Agtech space like Big Data, Internet of Things, Precision Agriculture and Remote sensing. While we are not going to explore each technology in-depth, we'll try to find their relevance by asking important questions as below.
--->What is the need for a particular technology in Agriculture?
--->Does every technology have relevance in the Agri sector?
--->Challenges for adopting a particular technology?
--->Importance of a Business Model to overcome adoption challenges?
The evolution of technology has changed the way we make decisions. Recent Agtech companies are trying to make this decision-making better by deploying technologies.
